Not sure if this has been mentioned yet in other threads, but I just wanted to point out that at 22-24, the Rockets have already equaled their win total from last season. With 36 games left to play. The play in tournament is obviously the ultimate goal this season, but regardless, they're likely to finish with a record far better than last year. The future is bright for this group.
I think finishing .500 is the best case scenario, but that's gonna be tough with all the road games they've got left. Right now, I figure 35-37 wins assuming Tari returns after the All-Star Break and remains in the lineup.
I think they will surprise us the rest of the way. The first half was all about just learning a new system and culture. These guys are just now developing chemistry and knowing what to do without thinking much. You’re seeing more instinctive decisions from even the less cerebral players. If we acquire a better backup C without giving up any key rotation players I expect us to finish 21-15.
I want us to go 22-14 the rest of the way, so my original prediction of 44-38 comes true and we make the playoffs! If Tari comes back soon and everyone stays healthy and we upgrade the backup C position, I think it's possible.
Imagine Tari back with Cam playing the way he is playing?!?! Hopefully we trade for a competent back up C, and man the second half of the season should be a fun one. Love it.
It's a huge milestone matching last year's winning total before the all-star break. That being said, our net rating is #7 in the west, which means we threw away a lot of games that we were supposed to win.
Ime just had to avenge his ejection from the previous game against LAL, so a must win game rest should be two 2024 high lottery picks on the way
Rockets with the biggest swing in wins this season. It's also ironic that the three teams that had worst: Raptors, Wizards, Grizzlies. Two of the three teams, we took players from: FVV and Dillon Brooks.
