A good lawyer at taking depositions (it is an art) will ask questions in a way that the deponent has to give the answer wanted by the attorney or commit perjury. You box the deponent in.

The other reason is to see if the deponent talks to much and reveals new information to explore.

Despite the protestations and lamentations of this "disgraceful" leak, does anyone have any doubt that this was leaked by Idiot-in-Chief surrogates so that they could protest and lament them?

Mueller: State your name for the record.
    Trump: Barron. John Barron.
    etc.

Trump may not have broke the law, but he sure-as-**** is going to lie his sweet ass off, for no apparent reason.

I would not be surprised if Cohen returned the favor, leaked the questions and threw Trump under the bus.

That sounds like Trump isn't the best person to be deposed under those conditions. It seems like a nearly impossible task for him.

Hold on to that hair piece, cos here comes Mueller !

    Washington Post
is reporting that special counsel Robert Mueller had warned DJ Trump's lawyers that

he could issue a subpoena for the president to appear before a grand jury, if the dotard didn't
voluntarily come in for an interview to tell what he knows about Russia, collusion, obstruction,
and whatever else investigators want to know.

Exactly. "Well, why not just hand us a list of any and all questions you'd like to ask the President?" "Uh, here you go." "Thaaaaaaaaaaaanks."

So then you leak the questions to the "failing" hated New York Times, because they have to print the story (who would bury it?).

And then Donald Longtie hits the twitter-verse from astride his golden commode, killing two dumps in five minutes: "A DISGRACE! WHICH HUNT!"

    "Uh, Mr President, that's 'W-I-T-C-H'."

"If you tell anyone I'll know who was the leaker."

Where does an unelected lawman like Mueller get off questioning an elected official about their motives/thinking on perfectly legal behavior? As if Trump has to justify himself to this guy.

Trump should tell Mueller to pound sand.

Why throw elected and unelected into the mix? That's very strange. Outside of some sheriffs and some district attorneys almost every single lawman is not elected. Can only elected people question other elected people? I don't think Mueller is questioning regarding anything other than the potential for crimes committed.

Hmm... this could have easily been written by trump himself. or one of the russian bots. But I will play along... Mueller was appointed to investigate. It appears that investigation has led him to trump. trump can certainly tell Mueller to pound sand, but Mueller can also subpoena trump. trump will then have to decide whether he is above the law, or comply with the subpoena.

So when are elected officials above criminal investigations?
