Getty EXCLUSIVE SCOTT WEILAND FOUND DEAD ON TOUR BUS 12/3/15 9:07 PM PST 54 Rock star Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota ... TMZ has learned. Weiland was on tour with his band Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts ... they were supposed to play the Medina Ballroom tonight, but the show was cancelled. A source connected to the band tells us Scott was found Thursday night on the bus around 9 PM -- presumably, shortly before the band was to go on. The former lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver famously battled substance abuse for years. It's unclear right now what caused his death. Scott was 48. Story developing ...
Sad, but not even mildly surprising. This was one of those endings that we've been expecting for years. He just couldn't beat it.
Damn...STP one of my all time favorites RIP Let go it's harder holding on One more trip and I'll be gone So keep your head up Keep it on, just a whisper I'll be gone Take a breath and make it big It's the last you'll ever get Break your neck with diamond noose It's the last you'll ever choose - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart
Man meant to post but got distracted looking for my stp albums... It was crazy, Dave Navarro basically posted on Twitter before sources so I was kinda hoping... you know it was hoax, he even beat Wiki... unfortunately no. RIP, I even saw some rumors of real reunion... And yeah I was hoping he'd beat it, but addiction is a b****.
And obviously could have been just the abuse his body had in general (not that it matters now), guy lived like a rockstar especially during his stp years...
The last time I went to see STP he was on stage 3 sheets to the wind going on about how he was going to start doing heroin again....I pretty much assumed then that he'd be dead fairly soon. That was at least 3 or 4 years ago so he made it longer than I was expecting.
loved this dude. one of the reasons i started appreciating/listening to rock. was hooked into the genre after hearing big empty from "the crow" soundtrack. knew i had some catching up to do. "Too much walking shoes worn thin Too much trippin' and my soul's worn thin" rip, scott.
In 2010 the last tour with STP before they fired him he showed up an hour late and wasted. I saw him at one of those free Blackhorse Limo shows in March and he was pretty much the walking dead and going through the motions. I told my gf I wish someone close to him would get him off the road and get him sober and healthy before its too late. It seems sadly that tonight a troubled tortured soul finally couldn't take it anymore.
My second concert was STP back in 2000. He ended up undressing and wearing an American flag around his waist. I never understood that. Good music, though.
RIP Scott. I just listened to about a dozen different STP songs. Sitting here with a laptop that doesn't have my music on it, so I was listening to these songs on youtube, and after the last song, it automatically rolled to an Alice in Chains song...........which got me listening to a bunch of their tunes. Stumbled across this.......hadn't heard it before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB_9GB3G86A
