he was the last of the OG rock n' rollers. its truly the end of an era as we have now lost that direct connection to the beginning of R&R as we know it today.

guys like him and little richard were punk rock. they went all out when the performed. pure energy.

one of the best live albums ever. 1964 - the star club in hamburg germany. he destroys the audience (and his band too).

he was obviously a maniac and married his 13 year old 2nd cousin. im not excusing it, but he grew up in the deep south in the 40's and 50's. marrying your 13 year old cousin was probably not that uncommon in those parts. the stereotype of hicks and hillbillies being inbreeders is there for a reason.

most of your favorite rock stars from your favorite bands have committed statutory rape. its f***ed up to think how normal that was not that long ago.

I was reading a retrospective of his life and wha this even more disturbing that he married his 13 year old cousin was he saw nothing wrong with that and couldn’t understand why people were so upset about it.

He lived a colorful life to put it nicely but he was an innovator and influenced many other musicians.

He didn’t excuse anything. He merely pointed out an uncomfortable truth.

Someone posted the old school meme of consequences will never be the same the other day. If you look into it - it’s an incredibly sad situation of a lead singer of a goth band committing statutory rape with the victim getting called a w**** by those in her school leading to the infamous online blow up.

Singer still never got in trouble no matter the amount of additional claims by other victims.and this was a C-D level artist.

JM is accurate in his assessment

You spent a paragraph praising him. He should get no credit whatsoever

Yeah, but he made sure to give him credit first. People like him deserve nothing. I was a fan of R Kelly's music but I'd never give that scumbag credit ever. These people deserve to have their entire existence wiped out

you obviously dont know what a paragraph is.

the more you try to attack me in this thread the stupider you look. and based off your posts in the D&D you were looking mighty stupid before you even came in here.

i gave him credit for his contribution to music, which nobody can deny. i stand by my comments about JLL. youre obviously butthurt b/c ive destroyed you so often in the D&D, but try to keep your frustrations out of the hangout.

    who are your favorite bands/artists?

other posters in this thread have also given him credit, yet you only attacked me and called me garbage.

again, i suspect this has to do with me repeatedly embarrassing you in the D&D so i dont take it personal. its an issue that you need to work out within yourself.
