Rep points

IIRC, the amount you get per rep changes based on an algorithm that takes into account amount of rep, amount of posts, and length of membership of the repping member.

I dont know exactly how it all weighs out, but that should be the jist of it.

 

I think it also takes into account how often people have repped each other already. E.g., if I keep repping you, my rep becomes less "powerful" or something? Maybe I'm just imagining that .

 

I remember we had a thread back in the feedback some time ago asking "how much are my reps worth?" It just turned into a huge rep circle jerk.

 

I think the Rep thing is the best deal ever.

The more rep you have, the more rep you can give out.

 

How many points do you have to get for a green bar? What about infractions - do they just subtract from your points, or are they separate?

 

100 points per green bar.

 

I hear if you get a rep from tinman, you can take it to the 99 cent store and get yourself something nice.

What about infractions? i.e. I have 2 infractions for 2 points, does that just deduct from my green points? Or do they carry some other kind of penalty?

 

not separate, takes away from your overall points.

It has nothing to do with rep. If you get enough infractions you get banned.
