Thoughts on reed’s game today? 17 pts against this defense with 2 stocks, 3 assists and 3 rebounds(some bad TOs and fouls)
3-10 from 3, 3 assists to 4 turnovers, lousy defense. He has to be frickin unreal on offense to make up for his below average defense. Grade D.
Wasn't a good game for him or anyone else besides Amen.....I thought his defense was bad and was especially taken advantage of with Sengun on the Floor...Gotta keep improving the ball handling and decision making....But these are the kinds of moments that I expected and want to see him get better from. Credit to Ime for leaving him in the game after those horrendous turnovers. The scoring wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Longerterm, I don't think Reed and Sengun are going to work. Reed's got his warts, but I think Sengun is the one that ultimately needs to be moved.
I couldn’t believe he had 17 points, pleasant surprise. Handle needs to get tighter. Could have taken a couple of charges tonight but didn’t. And it was coaching malpractice to leave him as a defensive backstop.
We definitely need a rim protector if Reed is going to start. I would prefer someone that could shoot as well. Sengun for Ware. Would Miami do it? Would we?
As usual any bad game Reed has you’re in here. It seems you do lean into stats when you want to. Just incorrectly and in a way that suits you. Sheppard has been the best 1st/2nd/3rd best player in every game the last month. check the +\- the last 15 or so games including last night. You’re 100% wrong, but that’s what happens when you have an agenda meanwhile you think amen is an all star on one of the worst offensive teams in the league. He’s part of the problem. Maybe doing this just helps you deflect from Amen being one of the biggest issues?
Yep, he is a confirmed hater, though he will try to say nice things, but he clearly doesn't rate Reed at all. DD
I noticed it, he thinks tari is better and that Amen is an all star that took a big jump. What a delusional moron
He is most certainly a rim protector, screener, and rebounder. Is he still an elite rim protector, no, but let's not go overboard..... like calling Reed a generational shooter like Curry.
Fortunately as far as I can tell there's only 2 regular posters who go full Ime on Sheppard any time there's an excuse to do so. 2 posters are easy enough to just sit back and laugh at when they are on their BS.
REMEMBER WHEN EVERYONE WAS SAYING WE NEEDED TO PARE REED AND SENGUN?? Ive been saying this since the Rockets drafted Reed....YOU CAN NOT PLAY SENGUN AND REED TOGETHER. ITS MALPRACTICE. We have to face the facts that Reed is who he is BUT more importantly, Sengun is who he is! Sengun is not a true 2nd option nor is he good defensively. I curious to see what Stone do this Summer
It's entirely based around thinking (knowing) Reed's taking the shine away from Amen as PG. Dude is HEAVY on the Amen as a PG narrative and thinking everybody else should just bend to fit Amen (who is actually the biggest weak link offensively, too limited.)
I'm glad someone else notices this. I want Reed to do well, and I understand his gravity on offense. I just think his defense is trash and it looks like he could care less about it. He doesn't switch when he's supposed to cut off a defender. On breaks he just makes a half hearted effort to break up the play. It's very concerning to me, because these are the same traits that other superstars of the Rockets, through out the years, get no pass for.
I don't think he hates Reed per se. He's just obsessed with wanting Amen to be the PG and Reed is kind of threatening that proposition. He wants Reed to be good, just not as good as Amen. That's why he keeps on downplaying Reed's achievements. In reality, if he really wants the best for Amen, he should care about what position Amen is most suited to play rather than forcing him into a role that exposes his weaknesses. Hemingway is like a parent who forces his kid to be a lawyer when the kid is really a talented artist.
