Former Rocket players give out massive praise to their former teammate. Rafer Alston says he'll take a healthy McGrady over Lebron and Moochie Norris choose Mac over everyone except Jordan. Interesting little discussion.
This should go well! Thanks for posting OP, got a kick out of this. It's good to hear what former teammates think of each other. [PS I haven't heard a peep from Rafer in years. Moochie was at least stinking it up in Big 3 least year on Cat's team. ]
I always said TMac had more talent than all those guys, but no drive or will like Kobe. And no heart like AI. And he would quit at any given moment. These things is what held him back from being even greater than he was.
T-Mac was undoubtedly one of the most talented players to ever step on to a basketball court. If he had that thing that guys like Dream, Jordan, Kobe, Lebron, and Timmy had he'd be an all-time great no doubt. He didn't though.
Title of thread needs to be Rafer and Moochie are morons. TMac was going to reply to that effect himself, but he got knocked out in the first round of posts and so wasn't able to.
Not here to go back and forth.... I used to be very tmac biased but have come to realize he just wasn’t made to win. I personally think injuries made him quit and sabotage situations. A guy who elevated his play every playoffs when he needed too isn’t lacking drive... I fully understand how everyone here feels about his sabotage and agree it was messed up.... but let’s not confuse personal selfishness with questioning if he wants to win...
You're absolutely right. In terms of talent and skill, Tracy McGrady was exceptional. He had such great ability and basketball instincts and if he would have had equal drive and desire, he would be an all-time great. I think JVG once said that TMac's natural skill and talent got in the way of his success
I don’t understand all the discussion of TMac on this site. His tenure on the Rockets were not exactly “fun” or “satisfying” times for the Rockets or their fans. T-Mac is an all time great talent, but not an all time great player or even Rocket. He was a piss poor leader, he didn’t work hard, he avoided conflict, he was washed up early, sold out his own teammates. McGrady and Howard can go hangout together.
Tmac should never be mentioned with Rockets talk. I put him up there with Pippen. Let’s forget those losers.
