    I had a terrible experience with a dentist about 15 years ago that gave me tons of anxiety about going to the dentist.

    I finally went to one a year ago, after not having gone for 9 years. I was terrified, but it was totally fine. Nothing wrong with my teeth, the cleaning went smoothly, still never had a cavity.

    My wife still has anxiety from cavities in her childhood over the dentist. Her blood pressure usually hits the 140s whenever she's there.

    On another note, I don't care for the dentist either. But I'm OK when I go there.

    To answer the original question, I once went 7 years in between dental appointments. Fortunately no cavities (use a sonicare and floss regularly) but I did have to do a deep cleaning and got my gums stabbed for an hour or two which sucked. Ever since that time I go regularly as don’t want to do that again.

    Haven’t been in 10 years at least, never had a cavity ever. All 4 of my wisdom teeth, and healthy gums and teeth l I’m lucky on this area
