To be fair to Cunningham, the pats are really good at exploiting mismatches and at attacking LBs, even if they are 2nd or thrid string receivers. Their scheme is too good sometimes.
Well for sure, he's made some good reads and that is very important but in the 2 categories I wanted to see him do well tonight he's flat out failed. He's not going through progressions, instead locking on to his first pre-snap read and his accuracy has been absolutely awful. Sure it's due to footwork and sure it's correctable, but that's not something that is going to be fixed quickly. Hopefully he fixes those parts about his game and tears it up next pre-season.
He definitely underwhelmed with his throws tonight. His receivers blow and there could be some poor route running on there part which can be contributory, but Watson needs to do better for sure. I'd like him to get some time with more of the 1s next week...he's at a huge disadvantage and cant really develop if people around him arent good.
booby sounds like a hater. It's just preseason, 3/10 for 102 vs 8/9 for 98. As long as they don't produce turnovers and actually score during a drive savage or watson starting is fine with me.
He had Ellington out there.....but when he throws it so inaccurately that the receiver thinks that there's no way the pass was intended for him, well....what are you going to do? I just think it's best if we're honest about Watson's problems tonight. I'm not going to blame him for an accurately thrown pass that is dropped, but he didn't throw many accurate passes total tonight, let alone accurate passes that were dropped.
Lol...oh, I get it. Sure, it could've went better. I think you are exaggerating accuracy issues, eye test here but I'd guess 5 or so brickhand drops. The misses, the ones I'd put on him are typically downfield throws.
