Curious who Democrats would prefer as president. note, this is NOT a poll of who your preferred CANDIDATE might be, which might be influenced by things like electability, or being more likely to win vs a hypothetical Republican, but rather who you'd actually want in the WH, if one could be assured that someone on this list would win. ...and I'm sure I've left someone out, but i think these are the most likely candidates, in a variety of scenarios.
Sure put Bernie in the WH. Republicans will call whoever is President a socialist regardless of their actual beliefs. Might as well have an actual socialist as the president.
I voted for Hillary... I like Warren and would favor her getting a significant cabinet position. I'd also be very happy if Hillary chose Schweitzer, Warner, or even Julian Castro as VP candidate.
Voted for Warren, but Bernie Sanders is talking about running. I could get excited about this if he runs as a Democrat. Somebody needs to run in the primary against Hillary or it will just be some careful triangulation nothingness pap and the 5th term of (Clinton-Obama) moderate conservatism disguised as Democrat and the gap between the one percent and the rest will grow. Hillary may even toss in an unnecessary foreign adventure or two to show that as a Democrat she is not soft of "defense' as they like to call it. The worst possible would be Jeb vs. Hillary. A billion or two on advertising and all of the political media for two years will be devoted to careful centrist maneuvering and the daily minor "gotcha" with the entire population reduced to even more apathy and ignorance concerning real issues.
Bernie Sanders is an Independent. I'll be conflicted if he runs as a third party candidate, He will say a lot of things that need saying but he will split the progressive vote and allow a Republican to be in the race. Something I've been wondering... What if Wendy Davis beats Abbott? She's already relatively well known nationally. Beating a republican for governor in a state that hasn't had one Dem win statewide since Ann Richards would certainly raise the level of awareness. I completely realize it's a gigantic IF. I could see there being some that would consider her a candidate should she win this fall...though 2020 would be more likely should a republican win in 2016.
Someone actually voted for Joe Biden? Should have made this an open poll so said voter could be burned at the stake.
Very true. I will hate Bernie if he runs as an independent and does not drop out before the real election. Remember when Nadir cost us Dubya and the Iraq War and the muti-trillion dollar tax break for the rich leading to huge deficits that we will take many years to overcome. (Sorry supplier siders or followers of "voodoo economics" as Bush Senior called that pleasant free lunch fantasy)
Based off of that criteria my selection is: Cory Booker. Though not on your list, and likely to not even run in 2016. Maybe in 2024.
Is this your way of preparing for your routine of finding misleading/propaganda-laced articles and then bolding words that you consider important? I don't think you really care about democrats or liberal candidates.
