    giddy, I'm very sorry for your loss. I about 1 year and 1 week from losing one of my best friends and mentors. While it hurts a lot less now, I still miss him just as much.

    sorry for your loss. I knew someone who lost a loved one because of choking.

    that story stuck in my head and I try to eat slowly ever since.

    Nice service today. Big turnout. Lots of friends from church and, apparently, lots of co-workers or ex co-workers. One guy I talked to had just retired yesterday, August 31. John worked at the same place for over thirty years.

    He was universally heralded as a nice, friendly, helpful man around town who did many wonderful things quietly without much fanfare.

    Oh, and he didn't like country music! Okay by me....
