Now that college football has unfortunately ended, it's now time for me to sit and watch NFL games. As boring as the NFL is, I usually am able to at least watch the playoff games.

With that being said, here are my predictions...

    Wild Card

NYJ @ Oak-Jets win again. Oak has the worst defense in the AFC playoffs. I have never been sold on Oak.

Bal @ Mia-Ravens win. I know Grbac sucks, but so does Fiedler. They negate each other, and looking at the rest of the players on both teams, I like Bal better. Miami's defense has been very shaky and is pretty average/poor against the run this year. I expect Bal to be able to establish the run, control the clock, and manage field position in this one.

TB @ Phi-I believe the temperature will be under 40, which means automatic loss. Regardless, I think Philly's defense is better than TB's, and that will ultimately be the deciding factor in what will be an ugly game.

SF @ GB-The Packers will win going away. SF has lost all the games against teams worth a damn. The Packers are worth a damn, and they are playing the Frozen Tundra.

    Semifinals

Bal @ Pit-I like the Ravens in this one. I believe that Pit kicker Kris Brown is only 50% or so on FGs at home. Against the Ravens, you have to capitalize on every scoring chance you get. Also, Kordell has had 2 bad games in a row. Pit goes back to last year's form with Kordell playing like crap.

NYJ @ NE-Pats win. I don't really know how to analyze this one because I don't know what to think about either team. This is one of those games that somebody has to win.

Phi @ STL-STL wins. But this one will be closer than most think. Philly is the type of team who could give STL problems because they are able to get good pressure on the QB, ala the Bucs and Saints. Also, STL's special teams coverage has been pretty bad this year, and Philly has Brian Mitchell, among the best return men of all-time.

GB @ Chi-They say beating a team 3 times in one season is tough, well it will happen with GB beating Chi yet again. I don't trust Jim Miller at all. If he's not turning the ball over, he is throwing 5 yard passes into the ground. Moreover, the Chi secondary is very weak and I think Favre has a field day through the air.

    Conference Finals

Bal @ NE-Bal wins this one. I know everyone has counted Bal out, but there's something intangible about the Ravens that I feel will bring them back. They are probably the most proud team in the NFL. They will definitely have a chip on their shoulder. Again, I don't know what to think of NE, so it's hard for me to analyze.

GB @ Stl-Stl wins this one big-time. Stl is just too fast for GB. GB historically has sucked in dome stadiums.

    Super Bowl

Ravens vs Rams-Rams win 24-10. Ravens do a good job of containing the Rams, but the Rams have too much WR depth for Bal to handle. Also, Grbac throws 3 INT's, when he is forced to come from behind.

    There you have it.

Yeah, like in New Orleans, January 1997. I also think that Green Bay would play the Rams in the second round under your scenario since Philly is the third seed.

    First Round:

    Buccaneers 16
    Eagles 13

    Packers 31
    Niners 10

    Raiders 27
    Jets 17

    Miami 14
    Baltimore 13

    Second Round:

    Buccaneers 28
    Rams 24

    Packers 23
    Bears 14

    Steelers 34
    Dolphins 17

    Patriots 16
    Raiders 10

    Conference Finals:

    Packers 28
    Buccaneers 14

    Steelers 27
    Patriots 10

    Super Bowl:

    Packers 24
    Steelers 23

First, let me say that the Steelers are the best team I've seen this year, and I see too many flaws with the other AFC teams for someone to prevent them from reaching the Super Bowl. On the NFC, I like St. Louis, but they seem to have serious problems against teams that line up and play physical football on the defensive end. You can see both the Saints and Bucs wins in STL as evidence. If Tampa gets by Philly, which they should because of the Eagles lack of offense, I think they can shock the world and beat the Rams in St. Louis. Their defensive speed is the best matchup in the league for the Rams, and don't forget two years ago when the Rams had just 3 offensive points late in the fourth quarter against the Bucs. They did win the NFC title game 11-6, but don't count on the Bucs scoring just 6 again. The Bucs pull out a miracle. I've also heard the argument of its hard to beat a team three times, but the Titans did it to the Jaguars a few years ago and I have little doubt that the Pack can do it to the Bears. The Packers dominated the line of scrimmage in both meetings, and the Bears could not throw downfield. In the championship, the Bucs may give the Packers a little bit of a run, but Lambeau is too tough to expect a win at in late January.

As I said earlier, the Steelers consistently were the best team I saw all year. However, if the cards fall the right way and Green Bay gets to the Super Bowl, I would not bet against Favre in a one game scenario. The Steelers pass defense isn't flawless, as Jon Kitna just threw for about 400 yards a couple of weeks ago. If the Packers can make it to the Super Bowl, I think Brett can dig down deep and find a way to pull out a win.

    GO PACK GO!!!

Green Bay has a decent chance as long as Favre doesn't decide to suit up for the other team this time.

    AFC Wildcard

    5. Ravens @ 4. Dolphins - Dolphins

2 Great defenses, 2 horrible offenses, the Dolphins offense is only slightly less horrible than the Ravens, which is why they'll pull this out. Look for the refs to have a major say in who wins this, so homefield will mean something.

    6. Jets @ 3. Raiders - Raiders

The Jets have had a few lucky wins this year, they're lucky to even be this far, Oakland will get their previous woes together and should be able to handle the Jets.

    AFC Divisional

    3. Raiders @ 2. Patriots-Raiders

I honestly know nothing about the Pats, so I'm going with the Raiders.

    4. Dolphins @ 1. Steelers-Steelers

I honestly know nothing about the Steelers, but I imagine they're good, so I'm saying they'll win.

    AFC Championship

    3. Raiders @ 1. Steelers - Steelers

Steelers do have a solid running game, and the weather should be too horrible for the players from Oakland. Steelers ram the ball down the Raiders throats for the win.

    NFC Wildcard

    6. Bucs @ 3. Eagles - Eagles

    Cold weather = Bucs loss

    5. 49ers @ 4. Packers - Packers

Cold weather + Lambeau Field = Packers win

    NFC Divisional

    3. Eagles @ 2. Bears - Eagles

The Bears are winning with smoke and mirrors, they'll be the overhyped sexy Super Bowl pick that falls early.

    4. Packers @ 1. Rams-Packers

Brett Favre will find a way to win this.

    NFC Championship

    4. Packers @ 3. Eagles - Packers

Brett Favre will find a way to win this.

    Superbowl

    Packers vs Steelers - Packers

The Pack are a pretty complete team on offense, and their is decent enough to not get destroyed.

    Go Pack Go!

And that's the way it is...

Steeler's will represent the AFC this year behind their running game and halfway decent play from Stewart. They will beat the Patriots in a thriller in the AFC championship game.

The Packers will represent the NFC behind a tough running game, and the best QB in the game, Brett Farve.

The Packers will defeat the Steelers in the Super Bowl.

I have no idea how this one is going to go. That's why I'm more excited about the playoffs this year than I've ever been.

    Can't wait.

    Jets over Rai-ers
Ravens over Dolphins (in what is possibly the most boring game of the NFL season)
    Eagles over Bucs
    Pack over 9ers
    -----------------
    Steelers over Jets
    Patriots over Ravens
    Pack over Rams
    Bears over Eagles
    -----------------
    Steelers over Patriots
    Pack over Bears
    -----------------
    Pack over Steelers

I just don't want to see the Ravens or Rams win. Obviously, I don't want to see the Rai-ers win as a Broncos fan as well, but as sad as it is, I might pull for them over the Rams or Ravens. Ugh.

Moe, I love proving you wrong...

I don't care about the AFC really (Go Pats!) but the Superbowl will be won by the NFC champion.

    AFC:

    Jets-Raiders = Raiders
    Ravens-Dolphins=Ravens

    Ravens-Steelers=Steelers
    Raiders-Patriots=Patriots

    Patriots-Steelers=Patriots

    NFC:

    Wild-Card:

Niners - Packers = Niners (upset pick!) First loss at home for the pack in the playoffs.

Bucs - Eagles = Eagles (Tony D is out of TB)

    Division:

    Niners - Rams = Rams

Eagles - Bears = Bears (McNabb gets nabbed all game long)

    Championship:

Bears - Rams = BEARS!!! 27-24 Another big play wins this one.

    SuperBowl:

Patriots - Bears (Repeat of SuperBowl XX) 38-10

    Urlacher MVP

Bears are the SuperBowl XXXVI Champions!!!
