Assuming we are going into next season with the current roster with no major additions, how many wins do yall think this team wins? Someone did this on twitter and the answers were all over the place, I'm curious to see where yall are at.

Per Kelly Iko, the rotation is as follows:
    FVV/Amen
    Jalen/KPJ
    Brooks/Eason/Whitmore
    Jabari/Tate
    Sengun/Landale/Green

After all these additions, i see the O/U on total wins at 30. At best they barely hit over 30 wins

Yeah I was also thinking this, I was thinking very low 30s, but the most common answer on twitter was in the 40s. Which sorta surprised me and sorta didn't, I mean, fans are always overly optimistic about their own teams. That's the fun of sports for a lot of people, it's always "this is our year!!" But I still was surprised at the number of "I'll be disappointed if we're below .500 this year" kinds of posts. I know you remember (you repeatedly bumped the threads to laugh at them iirc), we got a lot of those last year too, and we all know how that went.

They will make additions, even if that is only for Summer League or swapping 2 way contracts.

    One or two.

4 months are a long time.

My guess is 35 games and major improvement from our rooks. I can even see them getting 40-42 wins with some injury luck.

I voted for 37 to 40. FVV at point guard is a good basketball pick up that will add some wins. Having a real coach & defensive system will add a few wins and the young guys playing better - and sitting if they don't will add a few wins. More in the 35-38 camp so I could have gone a notch lower in the poll. Sending out Daishen Nix and not gifting Jabari Smith Jr. 30+ minutes a game will add 5 wins alone.

Edited to add: I think they miss the play in. West will be tough. Utah, San Antonio, & Portland will be bad, but everyone else is going all in to try to win now. New Orleans could fall apart worse than last year & Minnesota could blow things up mid season - Both of those have to happen for Rockets to even make play in.

This isn't a .500 team at all. a good solid year for this current roster would actually be around that 30 win mark. at the earliest, they can improve to being more off a .500 team in 2024. and thats more based on the bari, jalens, and senguns taking significant steps forward. you dont go from a 20 win teams of 3 years consecutively to .500 without adding any true impact stars and the core of the future are still kids, with a huge 3rd year make or break trajectory of Jalen/Sengun on tap

.500 is the goal of the season, and I think's it's attainable.

I can't understate how big an impact accountability will make on our young players. Even without adding the vets I think this team would have added 10 wins. With the proven players we should be able to challenge .500 with good health.

The team didn't lack "talent" last season. Ultimatle "how" we win our games will be more important than how many we win. There will likely be strong correlation, but if we only win 25-30 games but our young players take huge leaps that will still be a successful season.

32 wins max as currently constructed. The defense and playmaking will be much-improved, but Brooks is going to be a serious drag on the shooting and overall offense, which could have been league-average without him if we saw some normal improvements from the young guys.

Last 3 seasons I hoped and guessed bottom 3.

This year I'm hoping and guessing 34-40 with improvement that the young guys can build on.

Most of these kinds of polls don't make SUCH [edit] a nice Gaussian answer.

If you believe in the wisdom of the crowd, maybe the Rox sniff the mid-30s.

Can you confirm that you agree to have your account banned if the rockets win above 40 games and mine below 40 games

    32-50

Would be shocked if we are close to 40.

If we don’t win at least 40 it’s going to be a massive disappointment and probably will mean the last 3 years of tanking have been for nothing because Jalen, Jabari, and Sengun have failed to establish themselves as franchise cornerstone pieces.
