I am hearing a buzzing sound (sounds like air) coming from behind the cold side handle of the bathtub. It starts and stops throughout the day. I would need to open up the walls to have someone look back there, so I wanted to see if anyone knew what the issue might be before I undertake this mess. There are no signs of any kind of leaking, just the noise.

Some details: second story condo unit with a main water shutoff for the whole building. I am not able to shut the water off for just my unit.

    Thanks ClutchFans!

Sounds to me like a spider and you might get bitten while asleep

Is there by chance an air return shaft behind that wall?

Could be as simple as that.

BTW - I know a reasonable plumber. Let me know.
