Wow... this is pretty gutsy... I'd rather have Qualls up there against the leftys than Gallo.

The Gnats choked again. Does anyone know their W-L in one run games since the All-Star break? Must be very bad. Seems like they've lost 'em all.

Wheeler will pitch to one batter... Gallo did his job pretty good there (and thus, keeps his confidence, even though I consider Qualls as our "lefty" specialist).

Yeah, I wasn't in favor of the move either, but it worked out. I guess if you don't have confidence in your lefty now, you won't have it during the stretch run, emphasizing the need for a lefty reliever come trade deadline time.

Man... its amazing how good Wheeler looks... its almost Dotel-like (except Wheeler was just fine when asked to fill-in as our closer).

I think that is 0-5 after the break and I am sure that makes 8 consecutive losses in one run games.

And Rocket got the win. Woohoo!

Check this out: In 19 of his 21 starts this year, Roger has allowed TWO runs or fewer. That's amazing at ANY age.

    Sweeeep!!!!!!!!

Best home record and now 7 games over .500. Bad news is we will open against the mets with Astacio vs. Pedro and Wandy vs. Benson. Our two worst pitchers are going up against their best pitchers. :(

Doesn't look good, but we can't win 'em all. That's why dominating the Gnats and Phillies was so important. And don't forget last time, the 2 rookies won both games of a doubleheader, even though it was the Pirates.

0-6 since the break. 8 one-run losses in a row. They last won a one run game on July 8th against who else but the Phillies.
