Exactly what I was thinking. The raiders are the best chance we got at getting rid of him

Teams like the Raiders are way way under the cap, and they can cut Schaub after this year without dead money.

Well it's not a weak QB draft per se, but there isn't any top level talent at that position. If there was any top tier QB talent, there'd be no question as to who the #1 pick should be. I guess there's a chance that BOB decides to go with Keenum this year and they cut Schaub, but I would very much doubt that they start a rookie.

I'd love a 4th rounder, I feel like that's the cutoff for Rick Smith getting anything close to a contributor (though some could argue the first is XD)

The Raiders don't have to do any research on Schaub. They experienced his "killer instinct" and "winner mentality" in 2011 and 2013. I distinctly recall a Raider saying "old boy choked" in reference to Schaub's inability to run the ball into the endzone in 2011. They are looking towards next year's QB class.

Unfortunately I can't even name a 3rd rounder who Rick Smith drafted that was a contributor, save for Brandan Brooks. 7 years and only one good contributor out of all our 3rd round picks. Closest thing was Steve Slaton who had one good year for us.

It's a deplorable track record. Makes me angry just thinking about it.

Interesting. Looks like we might be able to get them back for the Phillip Buchanon trade.

Hopefully they can get a 4th/5th round pick from them.

Has to be a contract restructure involved. No way it's an as-is package.

His dead money still counts against our cap. Cut him or trade him, it doesn't matter. Still affects our cap the same.

Why would Shaub agree to that though? He could just force the Texans hand so he'll get cut and choose which team he can go to.
