Ugh. Honestly no good outcome here. If they find them guilty they might bar pg from signing with the lakers which means he stays in okc.
If he can't sign with the Lakers and he doesn't like it in OKC, seems like Houston is a nice option. Anyway, screw the Lakers. I only wish that Larry Bird was still in charge, so he would be the one doing it to Magic.
Pacers are the assholes of the NBA. They declined better offers for PG to trade him to a specific area
so it really is true. PG is going to the Warriors!! OMG OMG . Paul George is joining the Warriors next year! Thanks, Indiana! JERK!
"After a thorough investigation, we have concluded no tampering took place. Please continue about your day."
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...ated-possible-tampering-regarding-paul-george The possibility of impermissible contact between Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson and four-time All-Star Paul George is at the crux of an NBA probe into possible tampering, league sources tell ESPN. The Indiana Pacers filed tampering charges with the NBA against the Lakers, and the league issued a statement Sunday saying that a probe is underway. The Lakers are denying the allegations filed by the Pacers, insisting that there is no evidence of tampering, and they expect to be cleared in the matter, a team source told ESPN. If the league office's probe can prove the Lakers were guilty of tampering with George while under contract with Indiana, Los Angeles can be punished in several ways, including a loss of draft picks, financial fines up to $5 million, future restrictions on acquiring George and possible suspensions of offending officials. If the NBA were to find evidence that the Lakers had engaged in a side agreement with George, he could be prohibited from signing a free-agent deal with Los Angeles or being part of a trade to the Lakers. Nevertheless, it is unclear if any evidence exists that could incriminate the Lakers or Johnson. The NBA is using the law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to probe the matter, the NBA said. The story on the tampering charges involving George was first reported by Peter Vecsey. Team officials aren't allowed to make contact with players or their agents to discuss future plans unless it's after the opening of the players' free-agency year on July 1. The Pacers' charges represent a growing concern among many NBA teams that some potential suitors are reaching out to players and agents with one or two years left on current deals, trying to manipulate opt-outs and trades, league sources said. George informed the Pacers in June that he planned to opt out of his contract in 2018 and intended to sign a free-agent deal with the Lakers. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis on June 30. George has been public in his desire and interest to potentially play for his hometown Lakers. George could be eligible to sign a four-year deal worth approximately $130 million with Los Angeles in free agency. George, 27, is one of the NBA's most talented players and has long been connected to a possible return to his Southern California roots to play for the Lakers. The Lakers have started to clear salary-cap space to pursue George and Cleveland's LeBron James in 2018 free agency. __________________ Jimmy asked what Magic would do if he saw Paul George while on vacation. Here’s Magic’s answer: “No, we gonna say hi because we know each other, you just can’t say, ‘Hey, I want you to come to the Lakers,’ even though I’ll be wink winking like you know what that means right?”
How amazing would it be if lakers lost a pic and couldnt acquire george and george leaves okc for the clippers lmao
Tampering is just like speeding. Everyone does it. If you get caught, deal with it. Anyways, screw the lakers.
I really hope the LA fakers are found guilty! I hate them! Gives me something to throw in the faces of these fans here too. Living in LA area is horrible when it comes to dealing with LA fans and their teams.
