I am just happy Roma didn't get Best Picture. The new concept of a Best Popular Feature award should come true.
I haven’t seen Green Book (and I was telling my wife last week just how much I want to), but this seems like just another “meh” year for movies where something like Crash wins. Not that any of these movies (and Crash) are horrible.....just that previous year’s runner ups would swept the awards.
Oscars hasn't been good for over a decade. viewership is in the toilet. its not just you. Also how did this awful movie win any awards. Its like someone read the wikipedia page for Queen out loud. Best editing? seriously?
Spike graceful in defeat. https://deadline.com/2019/02/spike-...scars-blackkklansman-jordan-peele-1202564402/
I haven't seen Bohemian yet, but even when that mr robot guy won, his speech was cringe too. That movie makes me want to not listen to Queen. I'm done with that band, lol
Jesus! How many edits you need for people talking bullsh!t at a brunch table, lmao. Whack as ****. *** that!
i thought the movie was fine, but it didn't blow me away by any means. I did not, however, notice the editing at the time but watching that clip again is comically bad.
The review of heard of Rhapsody said . .. remove the musical scenes. . .and all it is . .is Rami doing an over the top gay stereotype Another Said that basically it was the other band members making themselves look near perfect while misrepresenting Freddie Rocket River
It's so incredibly generic that I really never understood the critical appeal. I thought Malik was solid in the role but the film as a whole isn't about as paint by the numbers as they come, that not even taking into account the historical inaccuracies.......
The inaccuracies people pointed out bothered me I guess there is creative license . . . but .. . Rocket River
That is like watching that ridiculous Street Outlaws show... Race starts: cut to driver - cut to wheel spinning - cut to side by side of cars - cut to drone cam - cut to crowd - cut to finish - cut to crowd reaction... etc. JUST SHOW THE RACE.
I saw one Morehouse Man give an Oscar to another Morehouse Man, for his film starring another Morehouse Man. And Sam let all Morehouse Men know who the winner was before he announced anyone's name.
My biggest complaint about Bohemian Rhapsody was how poor the pacing or editing came across. Just felt disjointed. So of course it wins the Oscar for best editing. I think it’s ok to ignore historical inaccuracies for a movie like that but even taking that out, it wasn’t a great picture. My favorite movie that won anything was Free Solo. That **** was awesome.
So 'A star is born' did flame out? It wasn't shallow, was decent. Felt this award season there just were not many strong contenders.
Movies continue to get worse and worse every year. How the green book won best picture and how black klansman won anything are simply beyond me. Can we have one year of movies without racial driven plots or remakes?
