The best thing social media such as Facebook has accomplished is exposing the racist right wing dogma that is expressed by proffesions that hand you guns in the US in private groups on Facebook. Those proffesions (Border Patrol, DHS, local law enforcement etc) inherently attract reactionary types. When people deny the right wing extremism that is in these proffesions, we can at least now point to a plethora of content.
Whatever the process is to screen recruits in terms of psych evals and background checks, it obviously doesn't weed out psychopaths.
