Also saying “relax a moment” when a Republican president said started another war in the Middle East really is something else coming from a Republican voter and Trump supporter. What evidence do you have that supports this notion that if we just relax it won’t affect us and everything will just work out?? What credibility does your party and president of choice that you voted for three times have??

    Please share.

    I didn't cry about it.

Relaxing is more for your mental health. We aren't changing anything raging on a basketball message board. But if writing all of that out is a stress reliever, by all means, do what you need to do. Yes, it will work out. It always does.

It’s convenient for you to downplay I know. I would say this is more of a community forum than anything. It’s great we all have the rockets in common.

But as Houstonians or people with connections to Houston it’s important that we do have community forums to discuss more than just whether or not Reed Sheppard should start.

Our lives are all affected even here in Texas when our president decides illegally without congressional support to send the country to war. It would be odd if a community forum place for discussion did NOT discuss something as consequential as that.

The issue is that this should have been anticipated and accounted for. Clearly it was not. The deeper problem is that too many people around Trump appear unwilling to challenge him directly. When those closest to a leader become "yes men" instead of honest advisers, reality stops reaching the person making the final decisions. If the commander in chief is not properly advised, or no one is willing to tell him when he is wrong, where do you think that leads?

History offers plenty of warnings. During World War II, senior commanders under Adolf Hitler increasingly stopped pushing back against his strategic decisions, even when they knew those decisions were disastrous. The result was a series of military blunders that professional officers privately recognized but publicly carried out. Authoritarian systems often produce the same dynamic. Analysts have made similar observations about Vladimir Putin and the early miscalculations surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, where an insulated leadership circle appears to have filtered reality before it ever reached the top.

But in this case the problem is structural. Those voices simply do not exist because Trump has deliberately surrounded himself with people selected for loyalty rather than independence. When a leader builds a circle of yes men instead of real advisers, the outcome is far more likely to be disastrous.

How Trump and His Advisers Miscalculated Iran’s Response to War - The New York Times

On Feb. 18, as President Trump weighed whether to launch military attacks on Iran, Chris Wright, the energy secretary, told an interviewer he was not concerned that the looming war might disrupt oil supplies in the Middle East and wreak havoc in energy markets.

Some of Mr. Trump’s other advisers shared similar views in private, dismissing warnings that — the second time around — Iran might wage economic warfare by closing shipping lanes carrying roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply.

The extent of that miscalculation was laid bare in recent days, as Iran threatened to fire at commercial oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic choke point through which all ships must pass on their way out of the Persian Gulf. In response to the Iranian threats, commercial shipping has come to a standstill in the Gulf, oil prices have spiked, and the Trump administration has scrambled to find ways to tamp down an economic crisis that has triggered higher gasoline prices for Americans.

The episode is emblematic of how much Mr. Trump and his advisers misjudged how Iran would respond to a conflict that the government in Tehran sees as an existential threat.

U.S. officials have had to adjust plans on the fly, from hastily ordering the evacuation of embassies to developing policy proposals to reduce gas prices.

Inside the administration, some officials are growing pessimistic about the lack of a clear strategy to finish the war. But they have been careful not to express that directly to the president, who has repeatedly declared that the military operation is a complete success.

    last week,
Despite rising prices, Trump downplays need to tap Strategic Petroleum Reserve. ‘There’s a lot of oil out there. That’ll get healed very quickly’,

    foreshadowing this announcement today,

Countries agree on historic release of crude reserves to lower oil and gasoline prices,
