    He’s historically a slow starter. Last year’s blazing hot start was, in all reality, an outlier. He should be fine. BUT, if 4-6 weeks from now he’s not looking like his normal self then the talk about decline could be justified.

    JV has had some trouble with fastball command the last two starts. Gotta be a mechanical flaw that will be fixed but definitely something to monitor.

    Brantley is hitting the ball hard but he's gotta get it off the ground. Over 50% GB rate thus far.

    He's historically gotten off to relatively slow starts (career 3.75 ERA in March/April).
