Cole has just never been quite on tonight. However, the bats have been playing the waiting game trying to exhaust Scherzer out of the game. I don't know what to think. I'm not going to criticize Cole for being less than a god for once. And the bats have been extremely patient and drawing lots of walks and full counts, which is great. But they have little to show for it. It's almost like Scherzer made it so easy to put up large counts on him that the bats have looked for it and done it too well instead of going for hits. What a weird game. Now, the time has come. You have four innings of bullpen to beat up on, guys. This is what you played for; don't blow it.
