This works out better for the Nats. If we win today, then they have Scherzer and Strausburg going 6 and 7. Will be hard to beat.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious they've known since at least last night that Max probably wasn't going tonight - it makes sense now why he managed his bullpen in last night's game the way he did. It must be pretty bad - they've been super aggressive these playoffs in using their top three starters so the fact he isn't going is shocking. I would honestly be a bit surprised if he is even good to pitch game 6 or game 7 since he can't go tonight - back/neck issues that are bad enough to not even ATTEMPT starting tonight in a pivotal game (you could argue it's for the series, especially on their end) don't magically disappear with 2-3 days additional rest.
You serious? Don't even know what to say here...yeah using Joe Ross over Scherzer after losing two in a row is SO much better for them.
We're now -230-240 tonight ... And, Washington would be an underdog in both of those games. I'm sure they're thrilled.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ A.J. Hinch learned Max Scherzer was scratched from Alex Bregman, who entered his office to show him an iPhone alert he got. A.J. Hinch had no issues with the Nationals or the timeline they took to inform the Astros that Max Scherzer was scratched. "They were top end across the board. Exactly how you would expect them to let us know," Hinch said.
I don't care if Teddy Roosevelt's corpse is pitching tonight. Just give good at bats and grind into that bullpen.
A friend just texted me, "we don't want anyone hurt." I responded, "yes we do!" All is fair in love and baseball. I hope they send Pee Wee Herman out to the mound!
You’re damn right, at this point I don’t care who they send out there. I just want to win the whole damn thing! Go Astros!
I’m just saying it may not be easy. Team needs to stay focused and hopefully pounce quickly. I’m pretty sure the other side was optimistic yesterday with Urquidy going. Doesn’t mean that I don’t like our chances. Just saying.
