Mass shootings have a few different definitions.

 

Whichever Democrat candidate is the loudest and the most emotional in their insistence that the second amendment be revoked wins the "Virtue signaling" bonus points. Expect there to be quite the contest over these.

Even though on election day that will only make them more likely to lose the election.

Why do you care about the second amendment more than saving lives and making this country a safer place?

 

It would not make this country safer. It would bring us a large step closer to being defenseless to the anti-American, unconstitutional whims of the socialist Democrat left.

 

I believe this is the 249th mass shooting this year, only 7 months in. Over 250 dead, 1k injured.

I'm not religious, but if I were, I'd say, "God help us all."

 

The obvious answer is changing mass shootings to only include 150+ deaths. Then we can say we don't have them in the US either.

Has any candidate proposed revoking the second amendment? I'm asking because I really don't know.

 

The second amendment for fighting government tyranny shtick is so God damn stupid. I've asked so many people who tout this nonsense to give me a proper threshold where it's suitable to take down government officials and law enforcement to "fight government tyranny" with firearms. No answer yet.

Hell, when black people decided to use firearms as a show of force during the Jim Crow era, they were labeled as thugs by the same second amendment crowd. So apparently what the US government did to black people for 400 years isn't worth using firearms to fight against government tyranny.

I've actually shifted somewhat towards the right on firearms the last few years. I don't believe bans work. Banning firearms at this point with the mass circulation we already have is nothing more than placebo comfort. I believe in universal background checks for all sales. But banning firearms or types of firearms isn't going to work.

 

No, and ironically Trump had banned more firearm accessories than Obama.

 

It is not surprising to encounter this sort of objection from those who align themselves with the aspiring tyrants.

 

So I assume you would have been fine with the Black Panthers offing segregationist legislators and governors with firearms. Unless you think the type of tyranny the Democrats will bring forth is worse than the tyranny African Americans faced for 300 years.

 

I think the type of tyranny your side ultimately aspires to is the same as we see in all locked down autocratic end-state socialist countries, such as Russia, Germany and China. If we do not stop it before it turns into that, it will be too late. For that, we have and need to continue to have the right to keep and bear arms.
