I’m not a fan of batting Robel leadoff, but if Jose is less than 100% then I don’t mind the day off. This is the 13th straight game, our next day off is Monday and we have six slated after that, and one series with OAK. A rest day is not the end of the world, hell our offense has manufactured 3 in 1.2!

I'd bet Altuve is 100%. From what I heard Click say on 790 the physical/trainers team personnel have a ton of say about who gets a day off and when. Management leans heavily on the trainers as they're closest to the players and know when said player needs a day off. I read that as being above Dusty. Dusty is old school meaning you play every day if physically able.

Him asking for the day off is not the question—whether he is less than 100% is. Players often want to play through things when less than 100%. Resting him can objectively be the right call even if Jose didn’t ask for the day off.
