Back should be the only concern about Correa going forward. I doubt Correa re-signs with the Astros. I don't hate Correa. Only chance he re-signs with Astros is that he's hurt and other teams don't want to take a chance. Granted, I've been surprised by a couple of extensions (Not that they re-signed certain players, but more on the timing).
I hate to be rude, but I would sincerely, earnestly like to beat the snot out of the Rangers. I despise, no I loath, or really dislike the Texas Rangers. Every time the Astros outscore them it makes me so wonderfully happy.
I said it before the season even started: Luhnow will not bend over backwards to try to retain him when it finally comes time to get paid. I think that's why he didn't pay Charlie to stay, either: the injury risk was just too high to justify the money. It's a damn shame. Correa has a lot of pop at the plate, but so do a lot of Astros. Never hurts to have a little more. However, he's a fantastic fielder, and when he's out there locking down shortstop, the whole team seems to have more pep in it. But this injury history is just too much to overlook. If he could get nearly a whole season next year injury-free, that would be a good sign, but he's only played 109, 110, and 72 games in the past three years. Hope he's back and back to stay for the rest of the season and post-season, but only time will tell.
Doubt Correa is more than 80% healthy. If the regular season had two extra weeks, he wouldn't be playing. Hope.Im.Wrong
I'm glad everyone gave him 1 entire AB to make judgements. After he played 1 entire game in AAA for his "rehab assignment". As Hinch said....this handful of games "is Spring Training for him"
