    It seems like the point of using a closer in a tie game would be to demoralize the other team, yet it doesn't feel like that is what we have out there.

    The point of using a closer in a tied game at home is that he's likely your best available pitcher, and you won't have a save opportunity, so there's no point saving him.

    I remember when Gallardo was a solid #2 pitcher, maybe even #1. Boy, he sure has fallen off a cliff.
