good points. my "ouch but true comment" was actually aimed at the Hillary part--"She lost to a game show clown." lol
You can't predict any thing about a Biden Administration until you know the balance in Congres. Look how the Obama Administration was stalled once he lost Congress. The Senate is the contest to watch. But, there will be much more of a push toward progressivism than Mr. Obama....times have changed, the voices are being heard.
So true. The sad part is that it's often just a flexing of muscles to vote NO, regardless of the cause.
Wow, I can't hate Curry now. Thank you Steph. Stephen Curry’s endorsement of Joe Biden a natural step in NBA star’s political progression https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...natural-step-nba-stars-political-progression/
I agree completely. I just hope progressives want to get to work and persuade people with well thought out policies and ideas and not just agitate because they don't get exactly what they want. I see a scenario where Biden will have a battle on 2 fronts. Biden and Sanders have a working relationship so I can see that cooling things.
interesting comment from a retired US Army intelligence officer who has worked with Biden in the past: "He was a mean spirited screamer when I knew him 20 years ago." In a broader piece about Biden--kind of goes against the "Biden as Mr. Nice Guy" narrative. https://turcopolier.typepad.com/sic...0b#comment-6a00d8341c72e153ef0263e95e1809200b
He's going to have battles for certain. Just because Biden wins and even if the Democrats take the Senate doesn't mean everything will be cool. If the Democrats win the Senate there might be more fights given the expectations that will be raised. A lot of people on the Left like to blame Obama and Biden for not getting more done when Democrats had the super majority. That majority was actually pretty fractious and there were Democrats who fought Obama on issues like the stimulus and the ACA. Biden is going to be very tested from day one. The Biden Sanders working relationship might not survive the first major Senate vote.
Very true but I think Biden will be more willing to reach out and build relationships and more of a horse trader. It's all about how he builds his administration and can those people get **** done.
it’s a pretty interesting blog, not much of a Trump fan but really doesn’t seem to like Biden at all. Again, I think it goes against the Gentle Joe narrative
It was an interesting comment section...the eye roll was mainly for the OP on that topic as it sounded like something from the deepest right wing sites you could find. We've seen Joe get upset...what was it, in the factory when the guy kept needling him and he bowed up to him...ended up challenging him to a push-up contest. I imagine, when Joe wants something done, he's probably a pretty big dick and seems to have a temper. Guessing the Army Intel Officer got hit with that temper at some point in his career. I did read through his comment on Trump as well...basically compares the two and their dementia which I thought was pretty funny and on point.
Joe gunning for eight years https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...possibility-of-serving-eight-years-if-elected
Why all the superfluous bullshit? Trump is a lying narcissist with no coherent plan, no bureaucracy of experts. no democratic nation allies. His big deals are "build a wall" (inherently stupid), an appeal to evangelicals to support and end to abortion (already decided by the Supreme Court), Tax breaks for the rich and corporations (there aren't any left and he doesn't control the House) and what? ensuring white privileged. Give me some big ideas that make the nation better that Trump is touting, the "vision thing"
