anthony richardson wont be a threat at 3 years from now look at trey lance, qbs that play like that dont win or amount to much in the long run, people dont like to hear it but thats the truth. The NFL only markets qbs who run to satisfy their fantasy football fans. These running qbs like hurts/lamar/fields will not win anything
They've now played 7 games in a row that have come down to the last minute that were almost winnable and they are 4-3 in these games. They're a year ahead of schedule and I'm enjoying the bonus ride this year. The Texans have never made the playoffs as a wild card team. Let's go Eagles today over the Bills.
Man, it has been a long time since I saw a game reffed by what appeared to be a gang of gambling addicts. That was some of the worst officiating I have EVER seen.
Apparently horse collar tackles are allowed in the pocket. In a league that is hypersensitive about dangerous plays, that is surprising.
I mean... NFL markets these guys a ton, Lamar Jackson is and has been a major face of the league since he's been in it. I just don't see it. I remember seeing him in some commercial for a mobile game or something, that means they could have picked a number of players to advertise these products and plenty of times they choose him. Mahomes also has plenty of 'swag'. He's out there doing trick passes, trash talks, is unabashedly super cocky and is annoyingly the football version of Steph Curry. Also Jalen Hurts is the top jersey seller this year. I just don't see this angle really.
I like this conversation because there’s so much nuance to it. I used to have conversations like this about Vick when he first came in the league. My contention was a guy who had a “run first” mindset wouldn’t win long term in the NFL. It’s always better to throw for 12 rather than run for 7. Vick wouldn’t sit in the pocket long enough to let a pass play develop. Now he was exciting as **** to watch play…and in college that was uber effective! Also…as you said…those guys are way more prone to injury. And eventually your legs get older… Also…there’s a difference between being mobile and being a “running QB.” Stroud is a pocket passer…it’s who he is…but he’s mobile. He doesn’t give up on the pass downfield quickly…if anything he might err the other way. I’ll take that style every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The greatest QB of all time was a freaking statue…and that wasn’t in the 1970’s, that guy just retired. He was far less mobile than Stroud is…but he got rid of the ball quick..he process information quick…and he knew when to throw it away. Stroud has those gifts too, he’s just more mobile. I get the Moon comparisons, but…and this is crazy for me to say as a huge Oiler fan growing up…I think Stroud has the potential to be so much better. He’s definitely more mobile.
