Nice production from the three guys who spent last year in the minors, Stassi, Davis, and Kemp. Getting production from the bottom of the roster is a big help.
True. But between all the non-slam dunk picks in the Luhnow era... they’ve been begging for just one guy to not only come up and stick, but thrive. White, Reed, Preston Tucker, Davis, Fisher... and now Kemp. Seems like the Cardinals not only had at least one guy... but they’d discover about one/year. THAT was the Cardinals/Luhnow system that many envisioned being in development here. Kemp would fit that quite well.
Kemp has been spectacular, a complete 180 from the non competitive AB's we were getting from Marisnick and Fisher. Davis has already walked more than Marisnick and Fisher did all year. Wish they had made these moves a little sooner, bud glad they finally made them.
Some of us wanted them sooner. Others used the word "Panic" to describe making a move earlier than this. Davis for Fisher is too soon to say, but Kemp for Jake has worked out spectacularly so far. The bottom of the order going 6/9 with 6 rbi was like a flashback to last year. Everybody was going (except Correa). Not sure whats up with Carlos.
