I think that the reason Dantoni doesn't do it early is out of respect for veterans....I don't think he wants to cause any drama in the locker room by vets losing their spots to unproven rookies, so waiting until this three game slide is a good time to slowly integrate him.. just my opinion. I'll admit, I was wrong about clark.. if he can continue to hit that three like yesterday and cut off the ball, limiting his attempts, i'd say there's no way we can cut him now. its hard to find cheap 3 and D players . I think he'll eventually be worked into backup 4 and stretch 5 on limited occasionas.. props to gary. we need that hustle on defense.
THIS SO MUCH doesnt even have to be this exactly, there are millions of things behind the scene we dont see...juggling egos and million other things is not so easy and achievable as it seems
exactly!! look at all the drama the Celtics had last year....Dantoni is a players coach and he knows a lot more about juggling egos than all of us...Imagine being told when you signed in the offseason that you were going to be the 7th or 8th man, only to see a rookie get all the minutes? its not going to fly. but I think our team has a lot of character and it won't be an issue. they want to win.
Anyone is better than Mclemore and Sefolosha. I don’t understand why Dantoni thinks Mclemore contributes at all..
This guy needs more minutes. He can play backup C and backup PF for us. He loooks more confident shooting those 3s. Even his misses look good. If he can rebound and shoot consistently, we got ourselves a perfect 4/5. When Capela and Gordon comes back i want to see this rotation. Westbrook/Rivers Harden/Gordon House/Gordon Tucker/Clark Capela/Clark/Chandler 8 men rotation with Tyson Chandler playing the situational 9th.
lHart is a player, too. Westbrook (30 minutes max) / Rivers (10 minutes) Harden (30 minutes max) / Gordon (25 minutes) House / Gordon (Offense) or Tucker (Defense) Clark / Tucker (20 minutes) Capela / Hartenstien (10 minutes) sud Harden & Capela early letting Westbrook have shooting all around him. Then p&r with Harden and Capela. Always finish with the hot hand. spot minutes- Clemons / Chandler
Clark said in his postgame interview that last year he sucked on ball, and that he was trying to be more aggressive on ball, and rebound better. Those are exactly the two things we need from him. If he shoots 35% from three somehow, he is a sublime fit at PF.
Not sure I agree with you, Clemons often got the call and he was an undrafted rookie this season....and I didn’t need to see Ryan Anderson play to know who has the greater upside at the moment. But I like that you can be open minded.
As a fan of the guy, i still think he can do better like, yesterday i didn't like a shot he took in second quarter, i think it was his third or fourth 3 pointer, he got the ball, moved a bit and then took the shot when he didn't have a clear pass to make, but it was completely out of rhythm and he missed it, for me it's fine if he's not scared to shoot, but i'd like him to shoot only when it's a good shot, just like PJ does, he already knows where to be on the court to get the right shots, hopefully he'll also improve his shot selection a bit. Regardless, i really don't see how this guy didn't play in such a long time after how ok he looked last season in those few games he played, especially since he's younger and he fills more needs for this team than other players Mike played. Reading through the comments these past days i read a lot of "if Mike didn't play him there must be a reason", while that might be true, it's also true that a coach can simply be wrong (and Mike is also stubborn as ****) and/or maybe not like a guy overall. Yesterday he said something like Clark has the potentail or chance to have a role but he needs to be consistent in order to get it, i would like to know if he thinks Thabo and McLemore have been consistent so far...or if Joe Johnson and Shumpert were consistent last season since they all got way more opportunities than Clark.
its clear as daylight mike suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder.. he cant help himself..otherwise a great coach
He should absolutely be modeling everything PJ Tucker does. I’d love to see more of his threes come from the corner too.
Ehh.... A lot of posters offer up personal opinions on players. Nook is just another poster doing the same thing. I don't see a need to call him out for it.
