McHale put Parsons on Lillard in Game 1 after Beverley fouled out and got his ass handed to him. Same crap this game, he deserved to lose.
Stop making excuses. We had HOME COURT ADVANTAGE against a young team that hasn't won a playoff series in almost 15 years. This is an underachieving embarrassment. McHale absolutely is on his way out.
i would feel so much better the sooner this guy get's fired. like 10x better if he gets fired this coming week. we would be heading in the right direction already.
I'm on board with this now. The main reason we got booted in the first round was McHale's inept rotations. Jones killed us all series long because he was too little to guard LMA or Lopez, yet we kept going back to him instead of giving our 7 footer a shot and IMO things like that is what killed us. When the guys we put out there aren't working, we stick with the failed idea rather than adapting FAR too often and when we do adapt often it's worse. For example, Jones was getting embarrassed by LMA and Lopez all series long and in the final game due to foul trouble we are forced to have one of the TT rotation off the court and instead of going back to Jones like we did all series which was a complete failure, we put a damn SG on Lopez which was even more of a failure. We go to DMo there, there is a game 7. There is no excuse. Early in the series we had a bunch of our 3 point shooters bricking everything in sight and instead of replacing them with a 3 point specialist off the bench, we just let them keep bricking away. I wanted to give McHale as much of the benefit of the doubt as possible, but his rotations and handling of the team in the playoffs was just inept.
We need a new coach. I haven't said those words this entire season. I wanted to give him a chance to see where he could lead us. I like McHale, he's an awesome dude. I just don't think he's right for our team.
rarely do you see a winning basketball team axe a 50 win head coach, but Mchale may be one of the few...
McHale: Hey James, I want you to meet Dwight. He is unstoppable on the roll. Dwight I want you to meet James, he was the best PnR guard last season. So naturally our offense will be very simple. We're either gonna post up Dwight or ISO James. Sound good? James: Sure, but that sounds tiring, is it OK if I don't play defense? McHale: Of course! We'll just start Pat because we all know having both your guards play defense isn't really that important. Pat: I don't know coach, this is a slasher's league, being unable to keep guys out of the paint may be a problem. McHale: Look I'll level with you, defense isn't really my thing. Look at Chandler, he has regressed every year I've been here! Chandler: That's right coach, we all know box scores get you that big money! McHale: That's right, and we got Sampson. As long as he's around, we'll be OK. Now everyone else, on offense, just stand at the 3-point line and wait for a pass. Lin: Um coach, I'm not really good at 3's. I am really good at the PnR though, could I run a little with Dwight? McHale: Nope, Dwight needs to shut Shaq and Barkley up. Lin: But those guys played in a different era with different rules, who cares what they say? Could we at least run some counters for when Dwight gets doubled? To be honest, his passing out of the post is a little shaky. McHale: They can double him? D-Mo: Coach if you want to run the offense through the post that's great, I am really good down there. I got a bunch of moves. McHale: Nope, only Dwight. Just stand at the 3-point line. D-Mo: But I am like really bad from there. Not all Euro's have that stroke. McHale: Look D-Mo, you're not really gonna play a lot and don't even take off your warm-ups in the playoffs. Daniels: Coach I am awesome from range, but do you think we can run some off-ball screens for me? McHale: Hmmm, interesting idea. Let me get back to you. Asik: Yo coach, I thought I was the center. McHale: You're not the GM, look, we'll half-ass some Twin Towers BS then drop it completely, and then bring it back for the playoffs, sound good? Asik: I think my knee hurts. Jones: What about me coach? What kind of player do you see me developing into? McHale: Right, let's just go with what the other teams give us and hope we don't run into a stud 4 in the playoffs. McHale: OK, that's the end of practice. Team: What about defense? McHale: Right! Now where did Sampson go?
Coaches fired last year with 50+ wins. Vinny DelNegro Lionel Hollins George Karl Where would you rank McHale on that list?
