[OFFICIAL] Cory Booker is Running for President Thread

Yeah I have to say that I have never seen anything about him that was impressive. He has always seemed to be entirely self serving and not especially bright or connected with his audience.

Perhaps one on one he is amazing, but that isn't going to work.

well, what's your favorite? am i supposed to pick the Gettysburg Address? "I Have a Dream"? Obama's 2004 DNC speech? Everyone knows those already, therefore, this is my favorite because it's unique and lesser-known.

 

My one criticism is that he has a tendency to talk above people's heads sometimes and isn't as conversational as some nominees. It reminds me of people on adderall; their mind is buzzing with ideas and they can articulate themselves; but their audience becomes lost after awhile.

 

I have only seen him give one speech, and speak/answer questions several times. Honestly he did not strike me as especially thoughtful. However, it is based on very limited interactions. Perhaps he will impress me later.

 

Not much of an opinion here, but I did think this sentence was pretty funny.

I like him least of all the candidates so far. He's only slightly better than Hillary. But he's a million times better than Trump.

Like I said Booker, is at the bottom of my list of people who are in the race so far. He's just barely ahead of Hillary Clinton. He's still miles ahead of Donald Trump.

That mistake was slightly embarrassing, but hardly newsworthy. It isn't a major story nor should it be.

The impression of him I've had so far is the same -- a self-promoter who talks a bigger game than he has. But, there's still a lot of runway to the primary and people aren't completely decided on who he is. Plenty of time to curate his image in the minds of the electorate, including mine. Maybe I'll like him a year from now.
