KC will move the ball no doubt so Texans have to bend and not break. Give up FGs and try yourself to eat up yards and TOP giving them less ops. That's the key.
I don't care if we win or lose, Chiefs are a great team. I just want Watson to play at least decently. Only thing that would be worse IMO than a terrible loss is if it's a terrible loss where Watson plays horribly. Should Watson play well then the sky is the limit for this kid.
I think the intangible thing about Watson, which is great, but which you also hope he doesn't have to do too much because of injury concern, is the simple QB draw. And it's not always that simple, I mean it's him reading the defense, other than when its called from the get go. It seems like Chiefs drop back into coverage a lot. On Monday, they seemed to run a lot of 3 man rush type stuff. Which is probably the type of stuff you'd typically run, disguising that coverage, switching up that coverage, but dropping back into coverage a fair amount, to confuse a rookie QB, especially on 3rd and distance. Then mix in a blitz every once in a while. Watson has been reading this great and just takes off up the middle for big yards.
There injuries on the O-Line is going to play a factor in this game. They should have trouble running the ball if our boys show up. Really feels like a big Clowney game is incoming.
Tennessee did that last game....KC's defense is slightly overrated at this point. You can beat up on them if you can execute in the redzone.
Exactly. Cause there wasn't enough tape on how good Watson seems to be at diagnosing how to attack that d. Curious if KC switches up its strategy or what.
Things I'm looking for in this game: Watson to throw a clean game. No interceptions Foreman to finish. Get in the end zone. Crack the scramble. Contain the QB Hit 'em when it counts. Turn all those QB hits and hurries into sacks Line 'em up. Similar to the Bengals game, extra protection for the QB.
Didn't know where to post this; Giants and HOU in talks for Duane Brown https://sportstalk360.com/ny-giants-houston-texans-in-trade-talks/
Deshaun could throw three picks in a loss, and I would still be over the moon excited about him, and this team. I think we win again, and he keeps proving himself.
SportsTalk360? Then the Texans should pay him. But I doubt it (4 ELITE years left). Giants fans would give up a 5th and from their standpoint, agree. 0-4 hole, 32-year old Duane Brown ain't coming to save them. Would be a desperate move. https://corner.bigblueinteractive.com/index.php?mode=2&thread=558121&show_all=1
True, there are some aging LTs who are still good. (Andrew Whitworth, Donald Penn, Joe Staley, Jason Peters) But if they, like you, believe he has 4 elite years left, then they should pay/keep him.
The battle between Alex Smith and the potential usurper of the Alex Smith legacy....Deshaun Watson. These teams have been mirrors of each other for a few years now except Chiefs have always had better QB play. Except for now.
I don't think there is a reason to think Duane is going in to regression any time soon. He was a great LT last year for us. Having him come back at LT and dropping Clark to RT makes our line much better.
