I agree with this. The only thing I'll add is that Alex Smith had some pretty bad years in San Francisco so maybe Hoyer can turn it around too.

Well they both started out as absolute garbage QB's then about 6 years into Smith's career, something changed and he started protecting the ball and being more of the game manager he is today. Maybe that happens for Hoyer....but I'm not really thinking that'll happen.

That said, look the numbers up, compare Alex Smith's first 5 seasons to Hoyer's career thus far....it actually makes Hoyer look not that bad.

Because it's the best WR depth in franchise history. When you have at least 4 possibly 5 legitimate threats, you're doing pretty well. Think of it this way, Every WR on the Texans roster would be either the #1 or #2 WR if they were on the Chiefs.

Playoff teams win their home games but it will be close. Crowd should be really disruptive!!!

    I don't see it.

Maclin and Hopkins are both very productive. Hopkins prob better.

    Avant is similar to Shorts/Washington.

Then you have rookies on both teams. mumphery as a 5th rounder looks ready but Strong is not.

No, Avant isn't similar to Shorts or Washington, he's someone that wouldn't have made the Texans 53 man roster. One of the only reasons he's still in the NFL is because Andy Reid loves him. Think of it like David Anderson and Kubiak.

There aren't very many teams that have better WR depth than the Texans do.

Speaking of the Chiefs offense, they have 3 weapons. Maclin, who will be limited because they don't have a QB that can throw the deep ball, Kelce, who came on strong last year as a pass catching TE, and Jamaal Charles who at this point is a very solid but unspectacular RB.

If the Texans' D shows up to play, they should have a REALLY hard time moving the ball.

Shorts, Washington and rookies (a 5th rounder and a 3rd rounder who is struggling) isn't "great" depth.

Avant numbers are similar to Shorts and Washington

Washington is probably the best WR3 the Texans have ever had. Shorts is probably the best WR2 excepting Nuk the past two years.

And it really doesn't matter who your WR4-5 are. Put it this way. Last year Martin and D. Johnson were our WR3-4. This year they didn't make the team. (I am assuming Martin is just the placeholder who gets cut for a guy we actually could use on the team and that he'll never see the field again.)

Wade Phillips effect. Give Kubiak new personnel and he will put lipstick on that pig such that it takes the NFL over a year before they figure him out again. Flacco had a strong arm and opened up parts of Kubiaks playbook that he had never displayed before. Dunno if we'll be able to see that with Manning this year. Also the TEs just aren't gonna get it done in Denver.

Better depth than previous Texans teams? Sure.

Better depth than most other NFL teams? No.

Well, Wade has good D's for a year or two before people catch on. Not sure why it takes that long, but it does. I don't know if people really catch on to Kubes in the same way, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that the Broncos D will look like crap in 2017.

With Q Demps starting at SS and KR, hoping he has a good game against his former team and coach.

LOL. This is sort of how Andrew Luck is not a great QB in your mind. Basically, if you're not a Texan, you're mediocre.

It's even worse if you're a former Texan.

No, look up the numbers instead of going on reputation alone.

In fact, if you look it up, you'll see that Alfred Blue had as many 100+ yard games last year as Charles.

    Good grief lol.

Jamaal Charles is still explosive, he just plays for Andy Reid and has a really good backup RB.

Charles averaged 5 yards per carry last year

    Blue 3.1

    Blue is "usable." nothing more
