I think this offense could score more than 13, but it'll have to be primarily in the air...which is shaky with someone like Hoyer at QB, especially given how awful he is when he's pressured. It'll have to be really fast passes before the pressure gets to Hoyer all game long.
If both teams score over 20points this game I'll be really surprised. Hopefully both teams kickers/punters are well practiced because I foresee a ton of field goal attempts and punts.
I've only got 2 concerns for this game. Who's covering Kelce, and stopping Hali and Houston. I don't know if we have a guy that can cover Kelce, Mohamed is our best cover LBer, but man he's at a serious disadvantage there. Slowing down Hali and Houston is key as well. I'd expect an up-tempo game to be called on offense, with a lot of quick short and intermediate routes. Simply don't have the time to allow a deep pass to develop with that pass rushing combo. They're secondary is extremely young with starting Gaines and Peters. I don't know if Berry will even play at Safety, definitely won't start. You definitely exploit that secondary. I'd go with a pass first offense this week, force softer pressure on the line, then run it as a compliment to the pass game. Texans 21 - Chiefs 13
I don't think it's a big deal. Teams spend 40% of the game in their base defense. That means 60% of the time we're only using 1 or 2 LBs. If Clowney is in the game in nickel or dime, he's playing DE. Chiefs also run a 3-4 and only have 4 OLB.

Chiefs are more talented than people think. Really tough game because Alex Smith is so careful with the football. Good news is that he isn't really the type of QB built to exploit our weakness with the deep pass. Still, with our running game issues I expect it to be very difficult to score. Chiefs 20, Texans 16
Kind of weird seeing all these predictions here for the Texans winning this match. Everyone on the Chiefs forum thinks they are going to win.
Eh, the Chiefs are actually pretty good. Or at least, not really any worse than we are. They finished last season with the same record as us...notching wins against the Seahawks and Patriots. Had they not choked their first game of the season against the Titans, they would have been the 6 seed in the playoffs. They added Tyvon Branch in the offseason...added two very solid guards...and Jeremy Maclin. I think it's definitely a 50/50 game.
50/50 is fair, but they aren't by any stretch of the imagination world beaters. In a lot of ways they are very similar to the Texans. Texans have home field, the better WR corps, and less problems with the O line if you can believe it. For those reasons, I'll give the game to the Texans.
I think OB indicated his game plan when he cut EZ by telling him he could play on a team that ran a lot of deep patterns. And really Hoyer is at his best on a 3 step drop. Probably the only deep balls we are going to see are jump balls to Hopkins.
Vegas has them at 9 wins vs 8.5 for the Texans. We are only favored by 1 despite being at home. Vegas seems them as a slightly better team. I think the Texans are a bit better than people think tho

If I remember correctly, he indicated this when he was first hired. There was a quote where he basically said he believed a portion of the pass game should be used as an extension to the run game - short, intermediate, high percentage passes used to keep the ball moving.
