That CLS400 looks ugly as heck dude. You have $70k to drop on a vehicle, but choose that monstrosity? Get a BMW 6 series Gran Coupe

Get a WRX or STI. You will not regret it!

Not what I'm looking for. I've driven WRXs and STIs quite a bit. Compared to the cars I listed, the WRX felt like a truck. They have plenty more low end torque so they are faster in traffic light races but for pure go kart like handling, they aren't the ideal car.

A WRX would actually be a great second car with a dedicated sports car especially where I live in New England. They are great fun and far more practical than the cars I listed, no doubt, but it isn't the segment of car I'm looking for.

Looking at leasing a mid/small luxury SUV next year.

Currently weighing the RDX vs X3.

Spoilerd is mine 2 yrs so far, i really was about to pursue a e46M after i will sell but changed my mind since the one i have now has been such a nightmare. The brz is a great car, but will be worth 5k in 4yrs....you will hate the lack of power and interior. I dont like forced induction so i will do as many bolt ons on the s2k as i can, headers ect...

I will tell you that for the e36 you need 3k just sitting, waiting for something spontaneous racing to fail....the e46 requires 10k...

I'm really hesitant getting a car that old even though the E36 is a classic because after a certain time the suspension gets lazy and you get power loss from years of wear and carbon build up. That's just too much work to restore it to its original glory. I've driven the BRZ, and I think people are overestimating it's lack of torque.

I think if I still lived in Houston, I would want a more powerful car because the roads are too straight and flat but in New England, there are plenty of windy canyon roads where I can wring out the engine like the car was meant to be driven.

Yea you're right about that. The BRZ handles better than the WRX

Yea my justification for buying one went a little like this

    -Always wanted one
    -Overall package for the price
And the one i was completely wrong about
-Maintenance will be cheap since its old (only half wrong)

The maintenance isnt that expensive like everyone knows, but the one i got needed almost everything refreshed...along with famous bmw leaks. It seems like its coming up on some more work needed and it will be the next owners turn to do that now. I changed suspension, bushings, changed all fluids, upgraded brakes, ect ect, saved a lot because me and a friend did all of those things, besides water pump job. E46 has 3 recalls, the scariest is subgrame cracks! Yikes

I'm looking at buying my wife a new car, the cheaper the better.

    Necessities:

    All Wheel Drive
Cargo space to travel with my two small dogs
    Under 25k

Doesn't matter if it's base model or not. She's not picky and not one to care about a brand name.

I'm going to test drive some soon, and possibly tomorrow.

On paper, I like the Mazda CX-5 the best. Seems like a nice car.

Will also look at the Honda CRV, the Koa Sportage, the Huyndai Tuscon, Subaru Forester, and the Jeep Cherokee.

    Any thoughts?

Haha its not for everyone due to how curvy the back is. But I absolutely love everything about the design of the car. The 6 is the only BMW I like, but I don't like the BMW controls inside the car. I prefer smoothness and luxury over speed and power of a BMW. They drive really stiff.

I like the Mitsubishi outlander sport. You can get a new, awd, 2.4l, 2016 for about 22k which is great value.
