All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 6-14 Aaron Sanchez (R) vs. Gerrit Cole (R) 7:10 6-15 Clayton Richard (L) vs. Framber Valdez (L) 3:10 6-16 Trent Thornton (R) vs. Wade Miley (L) 1:10
Thornton hasn't been half bad. Hasn't been half good either. Still, Diaz trade looks like a steal if Diaz can get healthy and stay healthy.
Not until much closer to game. I've not paid too much attention to these things, but I wonder if having to notify Vegas first slows things down regarding lineups showing up on Twitter.
Hey, guys, have you heard that Cavan Biggio is playing for the Blue Jays now?!!! Well, if you haven't, you'll get to hear about it A LOT in the upcoming broadcasts. A LOT! (God, I hope I'm wrong. I mean, yeah, it's a thing, but I hope it doesn't just dominate the announcing.)
No official lineup from what I've seen. However, in the past five games Cavan Biggio (L) has started four out of five, so I'd say there's a pretty good chance. And he's a leftie and has started all games against RHP in those five games. Cole (RHP) will be pitching tonight. Yuli's brother, Lourdes (R), has started in all five of those games. It's family reunion night at the ole MMP.
Such a shame the Astros didn't draft Cavan Biggio. Praying we somehow land him on our team at some point down the road (unlikely, but let me play). Also hope he never forgets where he came from and remains loyal to his home country (Texas, that is).
They took Abe Toro instead in the 5th, a few picks ahead of Biggio. Adcock in the 4th, Jake Rogers in the 3rd, Dawson in the 2nd, Whitley in the 1st.
Yeah, just speculating. Interestingly, Hinch said in his interview with Julia that he lets every player who's playing the next day know that they are before they go to bed. He says he'll use whatever methods he needs to find them: texting, calling, Facebook, Instagram, whatever. His reasoning is that he wants them waking up knowing that they're going to play that day and fired and up for it. As a backup catcher, he said he never knew before he'd get to the game whether he'd be playing or not, and it was either disappointing to find out you weren't or hectic to find out that you were.
Right, and I think that's a brilliant communication strategy. You know the players have to love that. I've just never heard that stuff getting released early though, before the lineups are posted, have you? Anyone?
Last lineup I saw still has Fisher leading off, so I have no idea what the hell is going on. 1. C. Biggio, 2B (L) 2. V. Guerrero Jr., 3B (R) 3. L. Gurriel, LF (R) 4. R. Grichuk, RF (R) 5. J. Whitley was no question the right pick. Rodgers too, of course, because without him we don't get JV. Jury still out on the others. I'd have much preferred Cavan to Toro. Was Cavan on our board then? Similar profiles, too (both IF). Loved Biggio, still do, he was my FAVORITE. Want to keep Craig on our side 100%. Worth mentioning, Toro is Canadian too, would have been a perfect fit for Toronto (plus his name, Toro-nto LOL).
Hmm, if he's leading off against Cole, he might have a chance of doing something special against 1st Inning Cole. Then Cole will settle in and strike him and everyone else out multiple times.
