Exactly like Deshaun. Mahomes has played 6 games and is being mentioned as the best QB in the league.... That’s ridiculous considering Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are playing football still. Mahomes is great at backyard football much like Watson was last year.
I might sound crazy but I don’t care if Miller is healthy or not I think Blue should start from here on out... I’ll be the first to say I never saw the point in Blue but he actually was a difference maker in the game last week and should get more touches since Miller has been far from spectacular.
I think we should wait till he plays more games before we get so hyped on Mahomes all it takes is one coach to find something that works for him to run into a wall... teams are still getting tape on him and that offense and we’re only 5 games in. Not saying he won’t be a great QB but all of these young QBs like Wentz, Watson, Mahomes are going to have a lot of growing pains before they become all time greats... there is a reason the NFL has such a high turnover from year to year, its hard to be one of the 32 best players at any position and it can be taken away at any time.
It's nice to see a Texas boy doing so good right now. I don't think people seriously think he is better than Rogers and Brady. He's just performing better so far, and that doesn't mean it will last, but he's fun to watch regardless. I'd take all those touchdowns in a heartbeat. We would have been undefeated right now.
He will surpass Mahomes if he can get that turnover ratio Mahomes has. He throws more yards but his turnover ratio is not good. Mahomes is throwing an interception for every 7 touchdowns and Watson is throwing one for every 2 touchdowns. Thats a huge difference, and probably the most important.
I think with Watson it's just a matter of maturity. Right now he's still having the one "boneheaded interception of the game" where he throws just an awful pass into triple coverage. I think with time he'll eliminate that and then he'll really be a monster of a QB.
Fourth quarter of the cowboys game I was thinking this. I was telling myself he hasn’t throw an interception yet so I hope we’re able to overcome it when it comes.
Same here, I knew it was coming, but it ended up not mattering in the end. He certainly still has work to do with his game, but it's important to give him credit for how ridiculously far he's come in such a short time.
What I like about Watson is he is not deterred by bad plays. He just plays ball and is not afraid to make mistakes. His INT rate is going down right now which is a great sign.
The problem is not Lamar Miller but how they are trying to use him. Blue is better suited for that style but he is still not THAT good. I much prefer Foreman with Miller coming off the bench.
It seems like the one bad play he’s made every week has turned into an INT. I guess that’s the NFL. Haven’t seen any dropped int’s on him yet. That play Adoree made was really good on a bad decision by DW
