A few thoughts: We've beaten the Yankees three out of the past five years in the playoffs. How sweet is that and F a bunch of Yankees fans!! The play by Reddick was freakin huge. If he doesn't make that more than likely it's an inside the park HR. Correa's ROCKET on the double play (95 MPH) was HUGE!!! Brantley's unbelievable catch and jumping up and doubling off Judge was freakin incredible!! All series long we've heard that the Yankees bullpen was better than ours and when it came down to a bullpen game who won out???? Harris has HUGE balls (to quote Rudy T)!!! Yuli hit the ball really well all series long (but right at people). When it mattered the most dude jacks a 3 run HR in the first inning to get us going! Altuve is like Hakeem. Unbelievable player but SO FREAKIN HUMBLE and always giving props to his teammates. Also loved after the game when they showed Verlander walking around with his hands on his hips taking it all in and Cole comes up to him and you can see him mouthing, "what just happened"???? LOVE IT!!!! Going back to the WORLD SERIES!!!
Aww....I had a dream that the Yankees were staying at Camp Crystal Lake and Jason Vorhees slaughtered them all. Sweet dreams and dream on.
I’ll always remember Gardner of the Yankees talking matter-of-factly when the Yanks were down in this series about how they were going to win like it was never in doubt. Thank you and please come again you twat.
Someone said it was from two years ago??? Would have been funny if the same dude filmed himself again like that.
Nice takes and agree. In an age of long balls and blazing strikeouts plays in the fields are underrated but both teams showed how important they are. That Stros players hit the ball right t Yankee fielders and that Bregman hit a lot of weak grounders is all do great scouting and analytics. Even those great plays by Reddick and Brantley weren't just amazing athletic ability but also preparation. Positioning yourself so you can get to the right spot. Getting a good jump. Even knowing the field. Baseball more than most sports is about a lot of subtle moves in between plays. It's pacing forces adjustments and rewards patience. Both teams had explosive offenses that put up eyepopping runs during the season. Yet other than games one and four neither games are really remembered for offensive output. You can look at what happened to the Twins for what happens when you can't adjust from being the Bomba Squad slugging it out of the park to gritty playoff baseball. As Smoltz said the Astros won the series because of a lot of small things they did minutely better than the Yankees. For as stressful and frustrating baseball can be this is also what makes it great and this Stros team great!
