Cole is getting ripped and serving free bases, while the Astros are barely missing XBHs.

 

I’ve said it his last few times out, but Cole, while still having dominating stuff, has been merely mediocre. He hasn’t had an “ace-like” outing in a very long time.

 

SIX of the Astros everyday players are batting .300 w/RISP.

Altuve has to work the count better in that situation. Make Minor work instead of bailing him out with a one pitch at bat.

 

Agreed. I always like it more when the batter works the count when the pitcher is reeling in a bases loaded situation. Make them beat you.

But Altuve is aggressive and was probably hunting a first pitch fastball he could drive. That's usually what catchers call for to get the pitcher an easy first pitch strike. Minor probably would've been out the game had Altuve got an RBI there.
