I agree that the issues the Astros need fixed are easier than getting a good starting pitcher at the deadline.

Still I have no confidence that the outfield situation will be fixed this season by Tucker or Alvarez. It is possible but far more likely that neither will step in and provide what we need offensively from the position.

My hope is that the Astros get a player as good as Beltre or better at the deadline to address the offensive woes. Adding a solid bat will help this offense a lot because it extends the line up.

I would love to add a legitimate closer as well, I think it would rectify most of the issues in our pen, but I know asking for a good bat and a closer is really a stretch.

Astros having both Tucker and Alvarez makes me much more confident at least one of them can be average this year. Even if the best of the two is on the slightly below average side this year, that will likely work. Feel good about both long term.

Get a bat for DH and a reliever or two (loogy shouldn't cost too much). If you get a great arm, likely can't get as quite a good bat. If you get a great bat, probably looking for a good lefty instead of a great reliever. Though probably too early to think like this as got a lot of season left for guys to have ups and downs.
