This. Had the name been changed or the franchise had down played their past, I would have possibly walked away.
Just returned to my sister's place in League City and I loved it! I now have a much clearer sense of the different strategies involved in the American League versus the NL. The DH? While I still disagree with it, I can see how it gives coaches entirely different problems that they have to game. Watching Beltran at the plate with a full count, I yelled, "Hammer it!" and that old feeling of elation went through me when he drilled one into deep right. It was beautiful. Had great seats a half dozen rows from the lower rail of the upper deck behind home plate (thanks, nephew!), with a beautiful view. Lots of changes to the Juice Box since my last trip. Tal's Hill is gone (which I don't miss) and it's clearly more homer friendly than before, and it was pretty friendly before. I loved the touches of the past that I didn't expect. Lots of reminders of the team's history, which was important to me. I really appreciated it. Bought a cap and will bring a cushion from Austin next time, assuming they allow it. I'm back!
Maybe some Colt 45 fans disowned them for turning Astro. That's cool, but for me "city" is always the main name.
