Castro has a very smooth looking swing and has more bat speed than I expected. That was a legit strikeout. Still, he's faced 27 pitches in this game in 4 plate appearances. Also threw out a runner. Solid night for him.
We may hit double digits today. A few games like this and we may improve to the 4th worst team OBP since 1969.
Once again, Fox Trax shows a pitch outside called for a strike. That should've been Ball 4 for Castro and his 3rd or 4th walk of the game.
Lyon with 4 straight Ks. For anybody that didn't watch the game tonight, don't be fooled by Castro's line. He was terrific at the plate and arguably should've drawn 4 walks. He forced pitchers to throw 33 pitches to him in his 5 PA.
As overpaid as Lyon might be, he has been nails this season. IF only we could get some team to take his salary and give us a prospect in return for him.
If the latter happens, I will think Wade made a good deal. Otherwise, it never made much sense. I doubt he signed him with the intention of flipping him though.
I don't really agree. If we trade Lyons, get at at most a middling A/AA prospect, for the price of paying Lyons $2-3 mil for his stay here. I'd rather the Astros just overslot a few guys in the draft and split the money that way.
Seriously we should split the money we saved and tack it on to whatever we offered Jacoby Jones and Adam Plutka. I'm sure another million would make them both sign.
Yea, that's a good point. I think we'd be eating a lot more than $2-3 mil, too. I don't see him getting traded any time soon. I never liked the deal. I guess I was just trying to look at the best case scenario since what's done is done.
