it feels like we're seeing less and less aoki but in checking, he's getting the same work load from april. Hinch has been a wizard at managing the lineups.
He has. In April we were trying to figure out ways to get Beltran into games at LF. I doubt he plays in the field again all year.
I think the only answer is Aoki. And I'd say that's being shortsighted. I'd rather have Aoki now and Fisher ready to come up as an injury replacement or in September than just get rid of Aoki for nothing. Fisher can still make the playoff roster over Aoki with strong play in the minors and when he comes back.
Aoki is realistically the 12th man. If he gets 150 AB's the remainder of the year he won't make a fuss about it. You can't do that with an up and coming prospect that needs everyday PT. You keep Aoki for that reason. That, and the fact that he's courageous enough to tell our superstars that they have NO MARBLES when they need to hear it.
Aoki cannot be sent to the minors. He has no options. You would have had to waive him or trade him. If he cleared waivers, then u could send him down. However, i doubt he would have cleared waivers.
I don't think any of our star players need to be told they have NO MARBLES. I can't even imagine someone telling Altuve he has NO MARBLES.
I trust our entire bench to give a quality AB/Pinch hit. I don't think I've ever been able to say that. Aoki is good with me. I like Fisher too. Bregman is probably the guy I trust the least right now at the plate, but he still good.
I thought someone mentioned that he does have options left in another series thread. It was a surprise to most.
