Can you imagine if we still had Morton and Keuchel? DK being the #5 starter lol. Btw Miley is garbage
They know Miley is going to give up a lot of runs Might as well rest them and have them all play for Verlander, Cole, and Grenkie
I get that this is a throwaway game by design, but there's still enough talent in the lineup if the pitching is average to win the game. But the defensive setup is so bad, I'm not sure you can win with that, period.
Surely this is Miley's last inning; may need to pull him now. He will soon be walking in runs. Give him the hook!
A. Why wouldn’t you throw a first pitch strike to fletcher if he only swings at 8% of first pitches? B. As bad as Miley has been he’s also been crazy unlucky.
Miley has gone from 3rd in ERA in the AL to possibly off the postseason roster in the span of 3 weeks(IMO, he should be left off).
Well I know who I wouldn’t start in the 2019 playoffs in a game 4 scenario. This struggle has gone on too long to be a momentary short lived funk. He is either hurt or his mechanics are off. Maybe he resigns for $4,000,000 next season and they work on figuring it out, but he is toast for this year. He doesn’t even give innings anymore.
Miley was a great signing. Far outperformed his contract and was a steady arm amidst much rotation chaos. But he's done for this year.
We have scored 3 runs each of the last 2 games...painful to watch a guy give up 3 in 2 innings.I'm in the get the win you need NOW and then take it easy.Come on offense !
See, this is what killed Keuchel a lot of time. When you don't have overwhelming power, cerebralness, or just confusion like Cole, Verlander, and Greinke respectively, you HAVE to get those corners called correctly. Overly tight strike zones destroyed DK last year. Miley's no Keuchel in terms of overall talent, but he's similarly susceptible to the whims of the home plate ump. But it was actually more obvious with Keuchel last year when he'd be in a bad place to have a good start. Miley's high amount of success and then total dropoff is really strange.
