But those rules (when developed) implied the roof sections over the infield... because nobody would ever be able to reach the roof sections deep into the outfield (till Yordan came around).
Pretty sure it is dead when it hits the roof. Where it hits the roof determines fair or foul. I don't think they anticipated that spot ever being hit. Edit: Never mind, see Nick's post.
If it hits the roof in foul territory it’s a dead ball so it can’t be caught. I believe it can be caught if it hits in fair territory.
