There are a lot of ways it could work. Easiest would be catcher has keypad that he can enter a code that relays pitch to an earbud the pitcher has. With technology as good as it is today, it is going to take technology to fight it as teams will do whatever it takes to win.
I’m not sure which channels are in 4K but FS1 is at least during the playoff games. Fox ran an alternate 4K channel when the game was on there too. The rockets games generally look pretty crappy in comparison, not sure if that’s been upgraded as I watched yesterdays game on the laptop.
with the proper technology, the catcher wouldn’t call the pitch, the pitcher would. The catcher could ask for a change, and the manager could override.
I find I can't read reddit/clutchfans etc during the broadcast as I find myself delayed by a couple minutes it seems like. Not that big a deal but slightly annoying.
I tried to watch Bilasport and listen to 790. both seem delayed, but when I did get them the right batter was up. Only Altuve was batting in the first inning on one and the third inning on the other. Now THAT's a delay. So back to the Bilasport feed where we were already up 1-0. It had kicked me off the stream, but with the sound down, I didn't know it. When I rebooted, it was already the top of the third.
I do not like modern tech. I want an OFF button and an ON button. Not a tree five layers deep that says you're turning it on or off, but it's lying to you.
I'm not deflecting sh!@t Anderson was exactly what they needed to make the postseason. They traded from a surplus of 3B Yes, they chose poorly This is a very weird argument for you to care about.
