He was, turned down the opportunity to perform as his partner is pregnant and due this week. Gary Barlow who is in Take That and performed was amazing considering his wife gave birth to a stillborn baby in the last week. Unbelievable you can perform the way he did after such a terrible tragedy.
Closing Ceremony = Super Bowl halftime show run amok. So glad I DVR'ed it. Final thoughts...NBC, I had no problem with delayed coverage or the commentary. But please cut the filler crap and show more sports next time! And please no more Ralph Lauren designed outfits! The athletes and actual competition was great though.
Ato Boldon was pretty good, like usual. Did anyone notice they showed Jessie Eisenberg at the USA/Spain game and the play by play guy thought it was Zuckerberg?
That was hilarious. The dude was like "And even the big CEOs came out to watch USA play today". Just face palmed.
I absolutely hated NBC's coverage. It was inane, shallow and jingoistic. That was expected but they took it to new levels this Olympics. On top of that all of the technical problems with the online streaming and limited video availability of sports online really ruined it for me.
We watched the first week of the Olympics in Sweden and the second week here. Holy **** is it painful to watch them here. By the end of the week I hardly watched them at all because of all the added bull**** that NBC has to throw in. Also, can't we watch anything without commercials? Perhaps I am spoiled to Apple TV.
I rewound that part on my DVR to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. Also, after we won, I swear I heard Doug Collins say on the air "Gold or Bust, b****!". <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bHdsQX46alk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
he said usually, not always... but I do agree china can be a threat to the USA, it's not that hard winning medals when you are more populated than anyone else (see china and USA)
India 2nd most populous country in the world = 2 silver, 4 bronze in 2012 Olympics China and USA were pretty close in medal counts until track and field started, where USA pulled away.
