Christianity CANCELS Yoho. "The bipartisan organization, which targets hunger and poverty around the world, said in a Saturday statement that it sought Yoho’s resignation, calling his actions “not reflective of the ethical standards expected of members of our Board of Directors.” " Which brings me to a tweet that landed on my timeline from Shapiro, where he rambles like an extra from "Rocket Science" on how empathy has no place in politics. This could be true if a certain party openly ran things the way a dystopian government would. But When you hide behind "family values" and "god" empathy should be a big part of the agenda or at least pretend to have it every now and then. It's always been my beef, the holier than thou act.
"The New York Democrat said Mr Yoho put his finger in her face. "He called me disgusting, he called me crazy, he called me out of my mind, and he called me dangerous," she said. Ms Ocasio-Cortez said she then went inside the building to cast a vote. But she said reporters outside then heard Mr Yoho call her "and I quote, 'a f'***ing b****'." "These were the words that Representative Yoho levied against a congresswoman," she said. Ms Ocasio-Cortez was not actually there to hear the remark."
Okay interesting, so why are people calling AOC a liar, isn't this on the integrity of the reporters who heard it?
which is the entire point of the op-ed . . . AOC is milking this non-event to feed the outrage machine. oops. "milking" is sexist. my bad.
The one problem with this story is - if the events were as he described them, why would he need to give any kind of statement or "apology" on the Senate floor? He wouldn't. His statement is a self contradiction in and of itself. He did something really wrong, and had to go on the floor to address it, but he is also clearly trying to minimize it and do damage control relying on the fact that he can us the fact there is no written record to stake out a more innocent ground. AOC didn't let him do it. I don't think she is taking advantage of something to gain publicity. She garners enough publicity because of her views already. He gave a half-hammed apology and she called him out on it, I don't see why she is the one getting criticized here and the writer of this article makes him the victim??? Just weird.
